a supermarket in california

the piece by Ginsberg is anther one of great writing. the intimate dialgoue in a common tone really is a treat for the reader. the prose form really helps capture the specific thoughts of the poet. he is talking to the memory of Walt Whitman concerning the state of American society as it has changed from the time when Whitman was alive. treating the supermarket as a metaphor for all the occurrences in life. the ilses are like lonely streets adn the trees provide shade for trees.
it can be interpreted that Ginsberg is unhappy with the way society is turning out. not the warm people of embrace but that of a cold entity. his discussions are still relevant today in the manner in which we act on our impulses and how we encounter on anther on a daily basis.
